Terms of Service
The agreement between you and MyVillage. It covers who may join, what you may post, who owns what, and what happens when someone breaks the rules. We have kept it in plain English wherever the law let us.
In effect since July 26, 2026
The short version. Be 18 or older, be yourself, and follow the Community Guidelines. Your content stays yours. We can remove content and accounts that break the rules, and you can leave whenever you like.
This agreement
These terms are a contract between you and Lorven POS (lorvenpos.com), which operates MyVillage. By creating an account or using the website or mobile apps, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use MyVillage.
The Community Guidelines, the Privacy Policy, and the Cookie Policy are part of this agreement.
Who may join
You must be at least 18 years old. You must be able to form a binding contract, and you must not be barred from using the service under the laws that apply to you. If we have previously removed your account, you may not create another one.
MyVillage is 18+, and that will not change
This is a permanent product decision, not a temporary setting. We ask for your date of birth at signup and check it. Giving a false date to get in is a breach of these terms and grounds for removal.
Your account
Keep your account details accurate and your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access to it.
One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone, do not run accounts on behalf of people who did not ask you to, and do not sell or transfer your account.
Your content stays yours
You keep ownership of everything you post. We claim no ownership of your photos, videos, writing, listings, or reviews.
To actually show your content to the people you posted it for, we need permission to handle it. So you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize, transcode, display, and distribute your content on MyVillage, and to show previews of it where you have made it public, for example in a link preview or a search result. This licence exists only so the service can function. It is not a right to sell your work, and it is not sublicensable except to the providers who store and deliver media for us.
The licence ends when you delete the content, subject to two ordinary limits: copies may persist in encrypted backups for a short rolling period, and we cannot reach copies other members already saved or shared.
You promise that what you post is yours to post, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
How you may use MyVillage
The Community Guidelines set out what is and is not allowed, and they are binding. In addition, you agree not to do any of the following.
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-collect member data, including by automated means.
- Reverse engineer, probe, or interfere with the service or its security.
- Send spam, chain messages, or unsolicited commercial contact to members.
- Post a listing for something you are not actually offering.
- Upload malware, or anything designed to damage a device.
- Use MyVillage to break the law, or to help someone else break it.
- Misrepresent your identity, your business, or your affiliation with anyone.
Businesses, listings, and reviews
If you list or claim a business, you confirm you are authorised to represent it, and that what you publish about it is true. We may ask you to prove the claim, and we may reverse a claim that turns out to be wrong.
Reviews must describe your own genuine experience. Do not write reviews of your own business, do not pay anyone for reviews, and do not review a competitor to damage them. We remove reviews that break this rule and may remove the account behind them.
A listing on MyVillage is not an endorsement. We do not verify the quality, licensing, or insurance of the businesses listed. Anything you arrange with another member or a business is between you and them.
Paid features
Some features cost money, such as sponsorships and promoted placements. Prices and what you get are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe under their own terms, and by paying you also accept those.
Unless the law where you live says otherwise, a placement that has already run is not refundable. If we cancel or fail to deliver a placement, we refund the unused portion. If we remove your content for breaking the guidelines, the placement is forfeited and we do not refund it.
We can change prices. A change never affects something you have already paid for.
The Students hub
Camps, clubs, and competitions listed in the Students hub are run by third parties, not by us. We do not vet them, supervise them, or check their staff. Verifying that a programme is safe and suitable for your child is your responsibility as the parent. Child records you create are private to your account, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Moderation, suspension, and removal
We may remove content and restrict or end accounts that break these terms or the Community Guidelines. The Guidelines describe the ladder we follow, from a warning through content removal and temporary suspension to a permanent ban. Severe cases skip straight to the end of it.
We aim to tell you what happened and why, and to give you a way to reply, unless telling you would put someone at risk or the law prevents it. You can close your own account at any time through Delete Your Data.
Content from other people
Most of what you see on MyVillage was written by other members. We do not endorse it and we do not check it before it appears. We moderate on report and by proactive scanning for the worst categories, but you should use your own judgement, especially before sending money, sharing personal details, or meeting someone. If something is wrong, report it with the flag button and it reaches our moderators.
Our intellectual property
The MyVillage name, logo, kolam artwork, interface, and software belong to us. Nothing in these terms gives you a right to use them beyond using the service as intended. If you believe something on MyVillage infringes your copyright, write to [email protected] identifying the work, the location of the material, and your contact details, and we will act on valid notices.
Disclaimers
MyVillage is provided as it is and as available. To the fullest extent the law permits, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or secure against every attack, and we do not warrant that anything posted by another member is accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill, arising out of your use of MyVillage. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred United States dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Lorven POS harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising from content you posted, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms. This does not apply to claims caused by our own wrongdoing.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, or your right to bring proceedings there.
Before starting anything formal, please write to [email protected]. Most problems are faster to fix that way.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top always shows the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give you notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use MyVillage after that means you accept the new version. If you do not, close your account.
General
If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing something straight away does not waive it. You may not assign this agreement; we may assign it as part of a merger or sale of the business. These terms, together with the documents named in the first section, are the entire agreement between us. Questions: [email protected].
