Delete Your Data

Leaving should be as easy as joining. This page explains how to remove a single post, a child record, or your entire account, exactly what disappears, and the short list of things we are required to hold on to.

In effect since July 26, 2026

The short version. Delete any single post, listing, or child record yourself, right now, from the item itself. To close your whole account, email us from your account address and it is gone within 30 days. Deletion cannot be undone.

1

Delete one thing

You do not need to ask us, and you do not need to close your account, to remove something you posted. Every one of these has a delete control on the item itself, and deletion takes effect immediately.

  • Posts, comments, photos, videos, reels, and stories.
  • Reviews you wrote.
  • Business listings, events, groups, job posts, and classified ads you created.
  • Camps, clubs, and competitions you submitted to the Students hub.
  • A child record in your Students hub.

You can also unlink things without deleting them: unfollow people, leave groups, or turn off any profile field in Settings so it stops being visible to anyone but you.

2

Delete your whole account

Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the subject line Delete my account. Include your username so we delete the right one.

Sending it from your account email is how we verify the request, which matters: an account deletion is not something we will act on for whoever happens to ask. If you cannot reach that mailbox any more, tell us and we will find another way to confirm it is you.

  • We confirm we received it, normally within 2 business days.
  • We delete within 30 days, and usually much sooner. Some jurisdictions give you a shorter statutory deadline, and where they do, that one applies.
  • We email you when it is done.

Deletion is permanent

We cannot undo it. There is no grace period and no archived copy to restore from. If you want your data first, ask for a copy in the same email and we will send it before we delete anything.

Using the mobile app? The same email address works, and this page is the deletion route we publish to the app stores.

What gets erased

Closing your account removes all of this.

  • Your profile: name, username, photo, cover, bio, and every optional field.
  • Your email address, your phone number, and your date of birth.
  • Your location, your saved radius, and your community memberships.
  • Your sign-in credentials and every active session.
  • Your posts, comments, reviews, photos, videos, reels, and stories.
  • Your listings: businesses, events, groups, jobs, and classifieds.
  • Every child record in your Students hub.
  • Your follows, likes, blocks, and mutes.
  • Your push notification tokens.
  • Your entries in the search index.

What we keep, and why

A few things survive, and we would rather say so plainly than let you find out later. Each one is kept for a specific reason, not as a general reserve.

  • Encrypted backups still hold a copy for roughly two weeks, until that backup rotates out. Backups are not used to serve the site, and nothing is restored from them into the live service.
  • Payment records for anything you bought, because tax and accounting law requires us to keep them, typically for seven years.
  • Moderation records if your account was banned, held as a minimal marker so a permanent ban is not undone by signing up again the next morning. Reports you filed about other people are kept without your identity attached, because the case against them does not disappear because you left.
  • Legally mandated records where we are under a preservation obligation, including reports of child sexual abuse material, which United States law requires us to preserve and report.
  • Aggregate counts that no longer identify you, such as how many members a community has.

Other people's content is theirs. If someone replied to you, quoted you, or wrote a review of your business, their words stay up. Your name comes off yours.

Get a copy of your data

You can ask for everything we hold about you, in a machine-readable format, before you decide anything. Email [email protected] from your account address with the subject Data request. We answer within 30 days, at no charge. You can also ask us to correct something rather than delete it.

6

Your rights

Deletion is a right under the GDPR in the EEA and the UK, and under the CCPA and CPRA in California, among others. Lorven POS honours these requests from everyone, wherever you live, rather than only where a law compels it. The full account of the rights you have and how we handle them is in the Privacy Policy.

7

If something goes wrong

If you do not hear back within 5 business days, write to [email protected] as well, in case the first message went astray. If you are unhappy with how we handled a request, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
